Things in France

I’ve been to Paris a couple times already so I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower, l’Arc de Triomphe, le Louvre….etc. This summer is all about finding the hidden places and seeing things I havn’t yet. This is just a short list of the things I want to do.

-Visit all of the major museums plus some extras (Louvre, Musée d’OrsayPompidou, Orangerie, Jacquemart-Andre, Marmottan, Cluny Museum, le Quai Branly, Musee Rodin, Musee Bourdelle, Army museum, Musée Carnavalet)

-See: Sainte-Chapelle, Sacre-Coeur, Pantheon, Opera Garnier

-Visit: La Defense and La Grande Arche, Montmartre, Champs-Elysees, Napoleon’s tomb, Jardin du Luxembourg, Galeries Lafayette, Victor Hugo’s house, Jardin des Tuileries, Le Grand Palais, Cemetière du Père Lachaise

See the view: Place du Trocadero, Palais du Tokyo

-the bar Experimental

-See the facade on the L’institut du Monde Arabe

-eat at: le Petit Palais, le Train Bleu, le Jules Verne, Le Tour d’Argent

Passer une nuit blanche sur la Seine

-The catacombs

-Do the Historic Paris Walk from Rick Steves which includes: Shakespeare & Co. Bookstore, Point Zero, Place Dauphine, the Latin Quarter, Satue of Henry IV, Pont Neuf.

-Eat lunch alone to people watch on the Boulevard St. Michel or “boul’ Miche”

Walk down Rue Cler (my school is right off of rue Cler) and watch boules

See the Eiffel Tower at night

Take a Bateaux-Mouches

-EAT A LOT.

-A baguette from a boulangerie, an eclair and macaroons from a patisserie, cheese from a fromagerie, pate from a charcuterie

Escargot, soupe a l’oignon, boeuf bourguignon, confit du canard, gigot d’agneau, steak tartare

-Drink une panache

-SHOP

-visit un marche aux puces (flea market)

Cabaret?

-Parc Astérix

-Run on the Champ de Mars

Macaroons from La Grande Epicerie de Paris

Groceries from le Bon Marché

bike tour (kind of did)

-canal tour

-buy cheese from Le quatrehomme fromagerie

-le parc de Villette

-eat at l’avant gout

-eat Frog legs (only ate them cause someone else ordered them)
